Felix Edward Hébert served as a representative for Louisiana’s statueFirst Congressional District from January 3, 1941, to January 3, 1977. Hébert holds the torch as Louisiana’s longest-serving member of the U.S. House of Representatives. We are not sure of the reasons why he has a statue on our City Park Campus, but apparently he was well respected and highly regarded for his work because he also has a Federal Building named after him in downtown New Orleans and a hall named after him at Tulane. If you know why this statue was dedicated in his honor, let us know!
