Dee Shedrick is a freelance writer and blogger from New Orleans. She is a graduate of Delgado and is currently attending Tulane University. While at Delgado, she was the editor of The Dolphin newspaper.  She enjoys writing biographies and stories of general interest. Dee loves meeting interesting people and talking to them.   Therefore, Faculty Spotlight, Student Success, and Delgado Gumbo – a mix of all things Delgado are her chosen beats for this new blog. Dee has been published in The New Orleans Tribune, The Lens, Northampton Magazine and was a stringer for the Associated Press during the 2010 elections. She is the mother of two beautiful pets, named Toulouse and Luna.

LeslieWhen she is not preparing for the zombie apocalypse, Leslie Terrell Salinero works as Publications Coordinator at Delgado. A native of St. Bernard Parish, she holds a master’s degree in English from UNO and is an organist / singer at First English Lutheran Church in Metairie. Leslie has loved to read and write since childhood. She currently resides in Destrehan with her husband, Christian. Her blog posts will cover a variety of topics such as Delgado faculty and staff, programs, history, human interest stories, and practical knowledge for students.

TonyCookTony Cook lives in New Orleans and is assistant director of Public Relations and Marketing at Delgado. His career in higher education advancement includes Tulane University, West Virginia University, Binghamton University, and State University of New York at Potsdam. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and holds master’s degrees from Syracuse University and the University of Toledo. Tony has taught at five universities and has published many short stories, essays, and articles in a variety of magazines, journals, and newspapers. hiltonHilton Guidry is Webmaster at Delgado. He was born and raised on the westbank and moved to the northshore 10 years ago where he now lives with his wife Carolyn and adopted baby girl Isabella from China. Hilton is a graduate of UNO with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications. He is also an avid sports fan (GO SAINTS!!) and enjoys reading and writing about music (he also plays the drums) and loves to keep up to date with all the latest technology.

ts profile nov 12Tyler Scheuermann is a third generation member of the Delgado community. He is a 2011 graduate of Delgado, receiving his Associate’s Degree in Print Broadcast Journalism/Public Relations. He is currently seeking a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, while continuing his work at Delgado as the College’s Sports Information Officer and Baseball Operations coordinator, in addition to working with other college projects. While a student at Delgado, Tyler was a member of the Honors Program, named to the Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges, and a writer for Delgado’s college newspaper, The Dolphin. He is the son of Delgado Head Baseball Coach Joe Scheuermann and the grandson of Delgado’s longtime baseball coach “Rags” Scheuermann. He enjoys all things New Orleans and hopes to continue to share Delgado’s story and legacy as the community’s college.

IMG_0461Andrew Lopez is Coordinator of Access Services/Reference at Delgado. He actually enjoys reading and researching in his free time. As a freelance book indexer, he also enjoys indexing books. When he is not obsessing over what he hasn’t read, he likes riding his bicycle all over the city, visiting farmers markets and book shops, and preparing food with local ingredients. He has a bachelor’s degree (BA) in philosophy and French from Temple University in Philadelphia, and a master’s degree (MLS) in library and information studies from McGill University in Montreal.
