The Bayou Boogaloo music festival held annually in the Mid-City neighborhood is hosted by The Mothership Foundation whose mission is to improve the quality of life for New Orleans residents.  This year the foundation launched a campaign to replace dead live oaks along the banks of Bayou St. John. Sculptor Marlin Miller created a work of art from one of the trees that was hit by lightning. The tree stands at the corner of Orleans Avenue and Moss Street.
