Delgado Community College Baseball is listed as the #3 team in the country in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) poll, which was released on Wednesday morning. The Dolphins, currently 42-8 overall, jumped from the #9 position that it held in the previous poll released on April 10.
The #3 ranking is the highest any Delgado Baseball team has held in the program’s forty-one years of existence. The Dolphins have made mention in each of the NJCAA Division I polls this season.

Last night at the Carousel Bar & Lounge Billy Joel stopped in to play a song for the lucky hundred or so patrons who happened to be there. He sat in with the Smokin’ Time jazz Club and played “Stormy Monday”. Joel is in town this week and will be performing at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival on Saturday April 27. Here’s a picture of his performance and a YouTube video of one of his more popular songs, Piano Man.

We live in a unique community unlike any other. We don’t need an excuse to throw a party and we will second line down the street for any occasion… even a graduation. Delgado held its First Annual Second Line for Graduates on Tuesday, April 23 at the City Park Campus. Family, friends, faculty and staff joined in the celebration and enjoyed cake, punch and music in the Student Life Center at the end of the second line route.
Just another Tuesday in New Orleans. If Frank Davis was still on TV, I am sure he would have said this event was “Naturally N’Awlins!!”
